So much has happened in the last month and a half in the Heinemeyer house! Norah turned 6 months on September 27th and just turned 7 months on Oct 27th. I can't believe my little girl is already 7 months, it is going by too fast, but its so exciting too. I just love everyday with her and I love so much that I can be home with her, I feel so blessed!
Norah is such a busy girl, she has flown through milestones this past month. At 5 months she started to pull herself up in her crib so we had to lower it and then shortly after she started to crawl and then within a day or two she could pull herself up on other objects like toys, the couch, chairs. And then she surprised us big time by standing on her own at 6 months old! She is now standing up to 15 seconds or so by herself and she thinks she is hot stuff :) Here are some pics of Norah from the last month and a half :)
We just got Norah's big girl convertible car seat and she loves it! It is so soft and comfy it's no wonder she falls asleep in it all the time :) We splurged on it and went with a Britax, we did our research and it seems to be the safest car seat out there and so we decided to go with it and it came in a cute print too! :)
Today at church all the kids dressed up in their Halloween costumes and so Norah had fun in the nursery being her cute lamb self :)
That has also been a great thing that has happened this month, Norah was finally able to be in the nursery at church, she had to be 6 months, and it has been so nice to once again enjoy the worship time and sermons without distractions! She is doing so well and loves playing with all the other babies and toddlers :)
Norah also has once again decided to love the pacifier, she didn't really care for it at all when she was a newborn and then liked it for a little while, then hated it again and now really loves it. She is such a girl, she can't make up her mind :) I especially like it now though because it quiets her down while we are in the car or if I need her to stay up a little longer it keeps her settled until we put her down.
Norah has especially enjoyed all her foods lately. She is becoming quite the big eater, she loves anything I give her, with a few exceptions, but even if she totally doesn't love it she keeps eating it, so for the most part she loves them all. This month she has tried pumpkin, apricot, pears, acorn squash, blueberries, carrots, mangos, peaches, and I have even given her a little whip cream and vanilla ice cream and she loved that! We have also started to introduce her to rice puffs, she LOVED those!! We were really surprised how great her fine motor skills were, as we have never given her food yet that she picks up herself. But as soon as we put the puff down she picked it up with her fingers and she put it in her mouth :)
I still make her baby food and freeze them in freezer bags, it works great!
She also enjoys her sippy cup and is a pro with it now :)
She has mastered holding her own bottle when I'm not nursing her :)
Norah LOVES bath time and now that she sits up and wiggles everywhere I bought her a neat suction bath chair that works wonders! She now can enjoy bath time without mom being a nervous wreck trying to keep her from hurting herself.
She also had her baby dedication at church this past month. We invited our families to come to the service and we had a small get together after church at our house to celebrate, it was such a nice day.

Enjoying the party outside with her cousins :)
I have been especially enjoying the beginning of the Holiday season at home with family. Fall is really the big start for me and I have missed the last 3 Holiday seasons with my family since we lived in Virginia and I have to say I am sooooo happy to be home, it has been so amazing to be apart of the festivities that go on during this great time of year.
We recently got to visit two pumpkin patches, one to pick out our own pumpkins and then my cousin had his birthday party at a local pumpkin patch so we got to spend the day with family and enjoy a hay ride and some great weather!

Hay ride!
This week we had Norah's pictures taken from a friend who does amazing work. Her name is Lynda Kennedy and Norah had so much fun! There is only one finished so far, but more are to come!
I am finally going to post some pics of Norah's room, I'm not done yet, I still need curtains and want to do a few other things, but at least it gives you an idea :) I didn't start putting it together until she was about a month old, since we had moved across country and didn't settle into a house until just before she was born, so there wasn't a lot of time to put together a nursery. But I'm glad I waited because I actually think sometimes things come out better when it's not all done at once, it's just fun that way and plus I have found things along the way that I wouldn't have done before.
I know I have mentioned in the past that I love DIY projects and finding great thrift finds and recreating them into something spectacular. Well this month was a lot of great projects and a lot of great finds at garage sales for Norah. Here are some below!
All of this I got at a garage sale for $35!! I got so many great gently
used toys for her, it has been great!
I finally found a high chair at a garage sale that was in great condition and wasn't the traditional plastic and I love it! It's an Eddie Bauer wood one that retails for over $100 and I got it for $40!! I even had my mother-in-law take some of my left over fabric from my dining room chairs and make a seat back cushion for it because I hated the ugly one it came with. It turned out sooo cute! This chair was literally a steal! I found it at a thrift store for a $1!!, that's right a $1 and then it was on sale for %30 off so I only got it for 70 cents!!!! Can you believe it? It's velvet and I just shampooed it and ripped this ugly skirt it had off so the cute legs would show :)
This fall wreath I just finished, I have been super obsessed with Pinterest and have found so many great DIY ideas to do so I found a 50 cent hay wreath at a garage sale and recovered it in black duck tape and then bought felt to make flowers and yarn to cover it in and here is the final product! I love the way it turned out and the best part is it only cost me like $8 rather than $30 for the ones I have seen on Etsy.
This piece I just bought at a thrift store and I'm going to redo, I haven't quite figured out exactly what I'm going to do, but I thought it was such a fun piece, so "After" pics to come soon!
I better go now, Norah's nap time is almost over and the dishes are calling my name! Hope you enjoyed!
